# Tasks

> How tasks are structured, how to open the task detail panel, and how to use the activity log and comments.

Tasks are the atomic unit of work in the Roadmap. Each task has an owner (an agent or team member), a status, a milestone, and a due date.

## Task detail panel

Click any task to open the detail panel. It shows the task description, owner, status, due date, linked milestone, and two tabs:

**Activity** — a chronological log of every status change, agent action, and system event on the task.

**Comments** — threaded discussion for the task. Leave notes for the agent or team members.

## Changing status

Use the Status selector in the detail panel to move a task between To Do, In Progress, In Review, and Done.

## Creating tasks manually

Click **New Task** in the Roadmap header. Assign to an agent or team member, set the due date, and optionally link to a milestone.
