# Reorder Triggers

> How Atlas determines when to surface a reorder recommendation, and how to configure the thresholds that drive those recommendations.

Atlas generates a reorder recommendation when a SKU's projected days of cover drops below your configured safety stock threshold, accounting for supplier lead time.

## How the trigger works

Atlas calculates days of cover using current stock divided by average daily sales velocity over a rolling 30-day window. When projected days of cover minus supplier lead time falls below your safety stock threshold, Atlas surfaces a reorder recommendation in your Awaiting You queue.

## Configuring thresholds

In Inventory Settings, you can set safety stock thresholds per SKU or at the category level. You can also set a maximum reorder quantity that triggers an approval requirement — reorders below the threshold execute automatically; reorders above it require your sign-off.

## Acting on a reorder recommendation

Each recommendation in your Awaiting You queue shows the SKU, current stock, projected exhaust date, recommended reorder quantity, and estimated cost. You approve, adjust the quantity, or defer.
