# Folder Grid

> How the Artifacts folder grid is organized, how to create and name folders, and how folder-level status indicators work.

The Artifacts surface opens to a folder grid — a visual layout of all your artifact collections. Each folder tile shows the folder name, the number of widgets inside, and a status indicator reflecting the freshness of its contents.

## Creating folders

Click the plus icon in the top right of the Artifacts surface to create a new folder. Give it a name and optionally assign it a color label for visual grouping. There is no limit on the number of folders.

## Organizing folders

Folders can be reordered by drag and drop. Common patterns: one folder per agent (Adam's Reports, Atlas's Inventory), one folder per campaign or product line, or one folder per recurring review cycle.

## Folder-level status

Each folder tile carries a status indicator: **Live** (all widgets are auto-updating), **Snapshot** (all widgets are fixed captures), or **Outdated** (some Live widgets have not updated within their expected refresh window). Details in [Status Indicators](/artifacts/status-indicators).
